grapefruit and avocado simple salad and how to supreme a grapefruit

SUPREME OF GRAPEFRUIT AND AVOCADO SALAD.

take supremes of grapefruit and slices of ripe haas avocado and lay on plate, sprinkle with a bit of salt and a couple turns of fresh pepper, squeeze about 1/2 a lime over it and drizzle with some olive oil.

SUPREME CITRUS FRUIT: A FANCY WAY OF saying CUTTING UP SLICES OF CITRUS FRUIT

Some terms in cooking sound more difficult then they actually are. To supreme fruits is one of those terms that once intimated me. Now I use citrus supremes in salads, such as a grapefruit and avocado salad,  or  for an addition to a good breakfast.

Items needed:
1. citrus - for this demonstration I used a grapefruit
2. a sharp knife
3. cutting board

Slice off outside of fruit so that you remove the white pith which is bitter
Next, take your knife and slice inside the membrane ( thin  membrane separating the pieces of fruit segments from each other) to the center (not through the membrane) -
you can feel the knife slide against the membrane as you cut. (if it gets hard to cut, you are probably cutting through the membrane) trust me it is easy.

continue slicing in between membranes

That's it!
